Cast revealed for new James Bond film ahead of first day of shooting
Skyfall team: Daniel Craig and Berenice Marlohe, with director Sam Mendes
The title of the 24th instalment in the franchise will be announced during a photocall at Pinewood Studios ahead of its first day of shooting next week.
The event will also reveal the cast and will be streamed live on the James Bond official website.
Those already confirmed for the production include Daniel Craig, 46, who returns for his fourth outing as the spy, and director Sam Mendes, 49, who was responsible for Bond’s last outing in 2012’s Skyfall.
Others expected to return include series regulars Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q and Ralph Fiennes who is rumoured to be taking over the role of MI6 head of operations M from Judi Dench.
However, the most anticipated revelation will be the identity of Bond’s latest nemesis with Bafta winner Chiwetel Ejiofor and Oscar-winning Austrian actor Christoph Waltz said to be in the running for the coveted role.
It’s also believed that the film will see the return of the series’ most iconic villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld who was made famous by Donald Pleasence in 1967’s You Only Live Twice.
Set for release in the UK on October 23 next year, expectations for the new movie are high following the success of Skyfall.
Taking £707million worldwide it became the highest earning film in the series as well as the highest ever grossing film at the UK box office.
