Jake Gyllenhaal is unrecognisable as he makes incredible body transformation for new film
ACTOR Jake Gyllenhaal is almost unrecognisable in these latest snaps.
We had to do a double take when we saw these pictures of the Donny Darko star, who has piled on a mighty 15 pounds of pure muscle for a new movie role.
Showing off a huge transformation, the 33-year-old is currently boasting rock-hard abs, massive biceps and one of those veiny necks only gym-buffs get.
Taking on the role of a championship boxer Billy ‘The Great Hope’ in upcoming film Southpaw, Jake has been training twice a day in preparation for the testing portrayal.
In a teaser snap for the new film, the actor can be seen pulling a terrifying expression in the boxing ring, complete with a bloodied face and mouthguard in.
He also boasts a number of tattoos.
“Jake is going to change how people see him,” director Antoine Fuqua told Deadline.
“I had him training twice a day in the boxing ring, he did two-a-days seven days a week. I pretty much had him with me and my trainer every day.
“I took him to almost every fight. I had him train at Floyd Mayweather’s gym in Vegas and we watched Floyd’s fights, and the Manny Pacquiao fight.”
Jake’s transformation came after he lost a whopping 30lbs for his role in Nightcrawler.
