Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato delighted fans on Monday after they finally reunited following years of speculation they’d had their fair share of ups and downs.
The childhood pals both attended the InStyle Awards in Los Angeles on Monday night and cuddled up for a friendly snap together ahead of the celebrity-packed event.
A beaming Selena kept things simple yet sexy in a classic LBD, while Demi shone in a belted lilac spring 2018 alice + olivia cowl neck, thigh-split dress.
The pair’s reunion comes after Selena, 25, commented on her Barney and Friends co-star’s post about her candid documentary, which was released last week.
“This was beautiful,” she wrote. “I’m so happy for you. You always continue to be bold and real. I wish more people were like you.
“Love you,” she added.
Over the summer Demi also silenced feud rumours when she appeared to give a nod to her former pal.
The singer posted a picture with two friends alongside the caption: “Kill em with kindness… or choke em with a smile on your face.”
Fans of the pair immediately assumed it was a reference to Selena’s 2015 track Kill Em With Kindness.
A month later Demi also tweeted Selena to praise her on her song Fetish. “Loving your new song Fetish, we’ve come a long way since our Barney days,” she wrote.
The former Disney star speaks candidly about her personal struggles in her new documentary which premiered on YouTube this week, but she admitted she still has not “conquered” her eating disorder.
“Food is still the biggest challenge in my life and it controls … I don’t want to give it the power to say it controls my every thought, but it’s something that I’m constantly thinking about,” she said.
And she shocked fans when she shared a photo of herself looking painfully thin during her struggle with the eating disorder alongside a current photo of herself looking much healthier.
“Recovery is possible,” she commented.
She also opened up about her struggle with drug addiction, which ranged from pills to cocaine.
The singer first publicly checked in to rehab aged 18 in 2010 for “emotional and psychological issues”.
“I wasn’t ready to get sober. I was sneaking it on planes, sneaking it in bathrooms, sneaking it throughout the night — nobody knew,” she said in the film. “I went on like a bender of like two months where I was using daily.”
Earlier this year, Demi posted an emotional message as she celebrated five years of sobriety after “so many ups and downs”.
