Stacey Solomon is renowned for her honesty and often highlights issues that many would shy away from. Over the past few months, the Loose Women panellist has been defiantly posting makeup-free photos on Instagram to reveal her adult acne to show others that you “don’t have to be blemish free to be beautiful.” Most recently, the mother-of-two shared a close-up picture of her face, and wrote besides the snapshot that she felt beautiful in the photo, which was hashtaged “#PerfectlyImperfect”.

The star added: “You don’t have to be blemish free to be beautiful. And anyone worried about going natural because of there skin, DON’T! OWN IT! It IS pretty and more importantly it’s you! Just because someone says spots look bad doesn’t mean they’re right!” The Fabulous magazine contributor spoke more about her attitude towards spots in her latest column, admitting that her skin doesn’t normally get her down, although it did when she spent time with boyfriend Joe Swash in Australia while starring on the I’m A Celebrity spin off show.

Stacey Solomon is telling fans to be proud of their imperfections

“I wanted to be make-up-free and beachy but I couldn’t bear the thought of him seeing all of my spots and damaged skin. So, I got up at 3am, every morning, and put my foundation on in the sweltering heat before going to camp. I topped it up continuously throughout the day,” she said.

Stacey went on to say that putting layers of foundation on her face only aggravated her spots further, and that when she decided to go makeup-free in front of Joe, he didn’t think she looked any different. “The best and sometimes most infuriating thing about Joe is he takes no notice of my physical appearance whatsoever,” she said. The down-to-earth star added that her spots “don’t make me any less of a person In fact I’m probably more of the person I was before if we are taking surface area and mass! Haha.”

Last week, Stacey shared another makeup-free photo while posing alongside her teenage brother, joking to her followers that she was experiencing “sympathy puberty.” The star then went on to reveal that she had enjoyed having a heart-to-heart with her sibling: “I love my little brother so much that I appear to be experiencing sympathy puberty. Or at least that’s what we’ve called it! Had the best laugh with my lil bro tonight talking about all things hormone induced and I’m grateful to my spots for making this happen. Love you Joshy!” she captioned the image.

Stacey is among the many stars who have taken to highlighting their skin troubles in recent years. Back in January Kendall Jenner defiantly hit back at trolls who had commented on her acne at the Golden Globes, revealing that she would never let it stop her from enjoying herself. This Morning‘s entertainment correspondent Georgia Toffolo has also been using her celebrity to highlight the struggles many acne sufferers face in a bid to help others. The star appeared makeup-free on TV in February to show the severity of her skin condition and to find out what she could do to control her breakouts.
