The X Factor 2014: ‘Don’t like the people you’re next to’ Simon Cowell tells the contestants to hate each other
SIMON Cowell isn’t exactly known for being everyone’s BFF.
So the advice he gave the remaining The X Factor 2014 acts tonight may not come as a surprise.
As Fleur East, Ben Haenow, Lauren Platt and Andrea Faustini made their entrance on tonight’s semi-final, he told them to quit being nice.
In front of a shocked Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, he said “Don’t like the people you’re stood next to.”
Not one to hold back her opinions, Mel B sarcastically exclaimed: “That’s nice!”
Even the normally placid Dermot O’Leary criticised the judge.
“There’s not too much goodwill to mankind going on down there” the presenter quipped.
Luckily, it wasn’t all bad as Eric Cowell’s dad got all mushy after hearing all the Christmas songs the semi-finalists sang.
“I don’t know if it’s all the Christmas songs, but I’ve gone all soft” he joked.
He praised Cheryl for choosing great songs for Lauren and even almost cried when Ben Haenow performed Please Come Home For Christmas.
Oh Simon you big softie you!
